Hunter Valley Premium Wagyu is a family operation and because of this, we have control over our beef from the moment of conception until the moment the beef reaches your home. We invite you to be associated with our business and to access the benefits of ethical and sustainable food production.

Our 600 strong herd is raised and finished on a 3000 acre property located in the Upper Hunter region of the NSW Central Tablelands. We also have a property located in the Bellinger Valley where a smaller herd of Fullblood Wagyu is grown and finished for the Mid North Coast market. This ensures that our product reaches your kitchen having travelled a minimum number of "food miles".

Ancestry, bloodlines and pedigree are a significant contributing factor in determining the quality of the final product and Hunter Valley Premium Wagyu has carefully selected the best Japanese genetics available and has continued to breed according to Japanese breeding principles to preserve this advantage.

Our Full blood Wagyu cattle are born and raised on rich and species diverse native pasture which grows on  black basalt soil. White and yellow box woodland provides deep shade during the heat of the day.  Interspersed between open pasture are glades and gullies, providing the cattle with protected and tranquil places to while away the hours.

The cattle are fed on native pasture until finishing.  In the final few months they are provided with supplementary feed to exacting specifications.  Most of our grain and fodder is produced on farm. This supplementation allows us to finish the animals  earlier than  otherwise would be the case. These techniques reduce  methane emissions and consequently our carbon footprint.

In addition, we do not use hormonal growth promotants.  There is no use of sub therapeutic antibiotics.  Our feed is GM free and animals are produced in an ethically sound manner using low stress handling techniques.  As well,attention is given to environmentally sustainable farm management practices.
